The thing about cosmetics : Fairy Drops' Volume Burst Mascara (Waterproof) & False Eyelashes #013 Review

FairyDrops' I had this mascara for almost 5 months ish. Been wanting to do a review on it but didn't find the time to do it. Bought this on ebay. Refer to this post. I'm about to toss it out.

DSCN0279Fairy Drops' Volume Burst Waterproof Black Mascara - my first Japanese mascara. I heard good reviews about it and decided to try it out. The applicator is different from other mascaras. It has the "three teardrop wand". The hairy stuff on it are microfibers (for volume).

th

Reminded me of those candy sticks in China.

Anyway, back to the mascara.

DSCN0320DSCN0337Long-lastingness/Waterproof level : High (7 hours)

  • The curls could last a day. Not kidding. But the microfibers might come off sideways of the upper lids after a long period of time. Harder to remove using a cleanser. Extra virgin olive oil is needed to remove it.

Overall formula : Dry - Excellent

  • The formula is pretty easy to apply, not runny at all. The microfibers might cause clumps of mascara onto the eyelashes unless distributed evenly. Voluminizes the eyelash.

Worth the money (costs around USD $17.25, inculding shipping).

I've used it before getting an eyelash curler and was pretty satisfied with the mascara. The only downside is that if you accidentally get some mascara on your lash line, it irritates the eye even after removing it. My eye got itchy and there was a tiny little bump was on my lash line, got healed after a day tough.

Moving onto the falsies - Natural Handmade False Eyelash #013

Got them for USD $1-2 a box.

Design : Gyaru, Japanese-like

  • Dollish look. It was too long for me. I had to cut the sides off. These lashes are really exaggerated up-close, and they're not even thick ones. Lil bit biased because I usually go for the natural look. They look pretty decent from afar.

Comfort level : Low to Average

  • It was alright when I just had them on but my upper eyelid got heavy after having them on for 2 hours. D:

Definitely worth the money but these falsies might tire your eyes out. More exaggerated eye make up is needed to pair with these falsies.

The thing about cosmetics : Yes to Cucumber Facial Towelettes Review

I've been so late with reviews lately 'cause of work. More kaching to buy more stuff!DSCN0224

Presenting - Yes to Cucumber Facial Towelettes!

DSCN0223

Wig, on. Makeup face, checked.

DSCN0234Removing them. I had too much BB Cream on.

  • Makeup removal power : Average

Did not remove my eye make up completely. Had chunks of mascara left on my eyelashes.

  • Face in contact : Organic

Does not irritates my sensitive/combination skin, but when I wipe my makeup off it did slightly dry out my skin (they were dry patches around my upper T-zone area)

Does not feel harsh on the skin. Real soft.

  • Scent : Cucumber-melon

Not really a fan of the fragrance.

  • Price : Reasonable for 30 wipes

Costs NZD$ 4.99 in Countdown Stores now! NZD$ 10.99 normally.

Not entirely sold off with these wipes. But really love the idea of these organic products. Plus, they are supposedly cruelty-free!

FYI I still can't work out how to take better pictures - usually a hit-and-miss. Gah.

The thing about movies : The Hobbit, The Desolution of Smaug

The Hobbit, The Desolution of Smaug came out in theatres last week. Of course, I went and watched it. It's by Sir Peter freaking Jackson. Did I say 'Sir'? Not gonna leave any major spoilers ahead.

The movie was quite full-on. Throughout of the movie, I was sitting on the verge of my seat wondering when is it gonna end. Because there were a series of events after events. And elves constantly coming in right in time to save the dwarfs's butt. Could be the dwarf's luck? They keep mentioning about it throughout the movie.

Legolas just makes me...

Thranduil looks prettier than Tauriel. I don't even....

Mad props for Tauriel tough. She's the independent woman who ain't need no man in her life. Why you guys be randomly inserting a love story in the movie? I liked her, then Kili happened. And that walnut scene, Errverybody be like omgasdfghjkl he almost died. I was trying hard not to burst out laughing.

I am still in awe of every actor's fabulosity and their traits. Totally worth $10 for watching it in the cinema. Love, LOVE. That cliffhanger at the back made me horrible. I'll need to wait until end of next year.
