The thing about bath products : Lush's Collective Haul and Reviews

Guess what I was hooked onto - those overpriced Lush products. The picture above was actually from my second visit. :p Staying near Northlands Mall has not been good for my bank account.

What is Lush? Lush is a company that creates handmade beauty products. Their products are made of "fresh organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics." They are also against animal testing.

I actually first heard about Lush from my mother. One of my cousins bought one of their soaps as a souvenir from the US for Mum. I've only started snooping around Lush after seeing rave reviews about their dry shampoo online. And decided to pop by their store to check it out but the smaller version of the dry shampoo has been sold out. :( Instead, I bought their Jungle conditioner bar.

Lush's Jungle Conditioner Bar are solid conditioners created to 'tame your mane.'

Price      : NZD $10.50

Will I repurchase it? No. This conditioner was a total miss for me. I figured there were no pros that were evident enough. It works the same way as a normal one would work. :s I tried cutting them up to smaller pieces, it just completely fell apart. Felt like it could melt really easily. Not really that solid for a solid conditioner! The other 'ewww' side is that it contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. There is enough info about that to push this bar into the gutter! Please do your research before you buy something, Jo! :|

For my second visit, I went to their bath bars section and picked up Butterball Bath Bomb and Amandopondo Bubble Bar. They look and smell gorgeously harmless compared to the others. I like the idea of explosion of colors, but don't think I like the idea of having them in contact with my skin.

First off, the Butterball Bath Bomb.

This bath bomb is actually my favourite product of my purchases. It not only stays true to its description, was also heaps of fun to play with!

This picture shows the aftermath of letting it fizz in your bath. Those yellow bits are cocoa butter.

I made a mistake of not cutting it, cause it doesn't work the same way if you let it dry after your first wash. :(

Price : NZD $ 6.50 (lasted for two washes, sadly)

Will I repurchase it? YESYES! Love the vanilla and cocoa butter scent. It is moisturizing enough! IT DOES NOT CONTAIN SLS. YEEEH. The only downside was it was hard as a rock. LOL.

Last but not least, the Amandopondo Bubble Bar.

Price : $NZD 8.90

Will I repurchase it? No. To put it bluntly, it makes white foamy bubbles. It contains SLS too. Ew.  It didn't really do anything for me.

Total experience : I swear walking into their stores is like entering Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Great presentation skills. Their sales ladies were uber friendly too. Plus, big thumbs up to Lush with being honest with what ingredients they put in their products. I'll probably steer clear away from their products that contain SLS since I tend to get irritated by it.

Anyway, I'll probably do one last haul before I move back.
